THE CATHOLIC CHURCHES TEACHING ON THE ISSUE OF BULLYING
The Catholic teachings on the issue of Bullying is that it is wrong. As it says in the Catechism of the Catholic Church,
"Human life is sacred because from its beginning it involves the
creative action of God and it remains for ever in a special relationship
with the Creator, who is its sole end. God alone is the Lord of life from
its beginning until its end: no one can under any circumstance claim
for himself the right directly to destroy an innocent human being."
[CCC 2258].
This means that all human life is sacred as God created it. It also tells us that nobody has the right to destroy or harm another human’s life. We should respect everyone for who they are as God, the creator of all things created us and by bullying somebody we are not respected them and the way that God made them.
As it says in Deuteronomy in the Bible
Be strong and courageous. Do not fear or be in dread of them, for it is
the Lord your God who goes with you. He will not leave you or forsake
you. [Deuteronomy 31:6]
The above quote says that you should stay strong, no matter how bad you are being bullied. Lord, your God will always be with you and watching over you. The church teaches that we should not fight back although the issue of bullying is so bad.
